I was born in Kuwait. I received my LLB from Yarmouk University in Irbid, Jordan. I obtained my LL.M. from Columbia University in New York City, United States. I have also an LL.M. in International and Commercial Law from the University of Buckingham, Buckingham, United Kingdom.

Since completion of my studies, I have been working as a researcher and legal consultant in intellectual property and internet laws in a number of countries including: United States, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Sultanate of Oman, and Palestine.

Currently, I am completing an Australian government PhD scholarship at Queensland University of Technology, Faculty of Law, Australia, under the supervision of Professor Brian Fitzgerald. I am also a research fellow at the ARC Center of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation and Project Leader for Creative Commons Jordan.

My main interests in copyright are in the areas of open source software, open- content licensing and development.
